Located in the heart of South Minneapolis, the Sky Without Limits Housing Community is home to Black, brown and immigrant renters who came together in 2015 — in the face of deplorable housing conditions — to say: enough is enough. For 10 years, SWL members have organized to take their buildings off the private housing market, and win community control over their homes.

Our community is more than just a group of 5 buildings. SWL represents a future beyond commodified housing. A future rooted in our ancestral practices, honoring our shared commitment to the Earth, to ourselves, and to one another. A future in which the profit-driven housing system is replaced with cooperative governance, collective stewardship, & relationships of trust and care.
